Recognition

Steven VanGrack has received many awards for his public advocacy, legal excellence, client service, legal counsel and community support.  These include the following:

1970 – University of Maryland, College Park, Citizenship Prize for Men. To the member of the senior class who has most nearly typified the model citizen, and has done most of the general advancement of the interest of the University.

1970 – Tau Epsilon Phi Arthur Ochs, Jr. Distinguished Undergraduate Service Award.

1989 – Women’s American ORT (The Organization for Rehabilitation Through Training) Tribute for outstanding work in community affairs.

1998 – Montgomery County Bar Foundation, Pro Bono Service Award for Extraordinary Commitment to the Delivery of Legal Services.

2001 – Montgomery County Commission on Children and Youth Nancy Dworkin Award for Outstanding Service to Youth.

2002 – Maryland Bar Foundation Award for Legal Excellence in The Advancement of Public Service Responsibility.

2003 – Women’s Bar Association of Maryland – First Annual Pro Bono Services Award for outstanding pro bono service in the community.

2004 – Maryland Trial Lawyers Association – Pro Bono Service Award for representing claimants before the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund.

2004 – Trials Lawyers for Public Justice – Public Justice Achievement Award for providing free legal services with remarkable victories before The Federal Victim Compensation Fund.

2004 – Maryland Leadership in Law Award from The Daily Record.

2012 – City of Rockville F. Michael Taff Award for exemplary efforts to attain the full inclusion of persons with disabilities in our community.

2012 – Columbia Lighthouse for The Blind Award for Pro Bono Support for time, support and inspiration.

2017 – Chabad Israeli Center of Rockville sanctuary plaque for efforts in litigation to keep the synagogue open.

2018 – Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee Rita Morgan – Bruce Juney Community Service Award.

Selected for inclusion in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, Outstanding Young Men of America, Who’s Who in Washington, Who’s Who in American Law and Super Lawyers.
